Safeguarding Policy

How safeguarding concerns are handled within a household budgeting support service.

Safeguarding

Purpose

Pay Cycle Budgeting UK is an online household budgeting support service. It is not a crisis service, social work service, counselling service, debt advice service or emergency support service.

Adults and families

Where a customer shares information suggesting immediate risk of harm, exploitation, abuse, coercion, neglect or serious crisis, Pay Cycle Budgeting UK may encourage the customer to contact emergency services, local authority social work, NHS support, a safeguarding service or an appropriate charity.

Children and young people

The service is intended for adults. If information suggests a child may be at risk of harm, appropriate safeguarding signposting or reporting may be considered, depending on the information shared and legal obligations.

Financial abuse and coercion

If a budgeting enquiry suggests financial control, coercion or abuse, the customer may be encouraged to seek specialist domestic abuse, safeguarding or legal support. Pay Cycle Budgeting UK does not investigate abuse and does not replace specialist services.

Emergency situations

If there is immediate danger, customers should contact emergency services on 999. For non-emergency support, customers should contact appropriate local services, NHS 111, local authority social work, Citizens Advice, debt advice charities or other relevant organisations.

Boundaries

Pay Cycle Budgeting UK can help organise household budget figures. It cannot provide regulated advice, crisis intervention, social work, counselling, legal advice or benefits/debt advice.
